Health Minister spokesperson Or Vandine told the press: “Some people have been fully vaccinated and thus don’t think that the booster shot is necessary,” Vandine said. “Also, they are busy with their work. Some people [in the rural communities] have to work in their field and remain there for months, and thus find it hard to go to get the vaccine.”
“Due to this, we will change our procedures and strategy. Rather than waiting for them to come and get the vaccine, the local authorities and the health workers will work together to bring vaccine to them.”
Vandine adds that local authorities shall conduct a census in their communities to identify the people who have not been vaccinated or received booster shots and work with the health workers to set a date on which the medical team can go to give them the jabs.
