On behalf of the leadership of Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), the meeting was attended by Mr. Trinh Thuc Huynh-Former General Director of the National Political Publishing House of Vietnam, Permanent member of the Vietnam Record Association, Vice-Chairman of Indochina Book of Records (Indochina Kings) in charge of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Le Tran Truong An-General Director of Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), Vice-Chairman of World Records Union (WorldKings); Mr. Hoang Thai Tuan Anh-Chief Representative of Northern Records Development Office of Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings); Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuong Van-Head of International Relations Division of Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings); Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen-Deputy of International Relations Division of Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings).

On behalf of the Laos delegation, the meeting welcomed the attendance of Mr. May On – Director of Lao National Printing House; Mr. Buonnam – Former Vice-Chairman of the Institute of History in Laos; Mr. Viengphone – Principal of Lao National School of Fine Arts; Mr. Sayyaphon – Former Director of Ministry of Finance, Director of Lao National Publishing and Book Distribution House; Mr. Khamphanh Sithilath – Deputy Director of the Lao Institute of Folklore; and many other representatives.

Established as a member of the World Records Union (WorldKings), the Indochina Book of Records (IndochinaKings) operates under the magnetic needle guidance of “3 countries – one destination” in an effort to promote record values and highlight renowned tourist destinations, distinctive regional cuisine, unique gifts, and handicrafts in the three countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Additionally, the IndochinaKings wishes to provide opportunities for the record-holder communities in three nations to interact, share, learn, and exchange record values. Since then, new values have been developed to serve the Record Holders community in Indochina, sustaining and enhancing the solidarity and cooperation between the three Indochina countries.

At this meeting, the Representatives of Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) requested to transfer the copyright of the Indochina Book of Records (IndochinaKings) to representatives of IndochinaKings office in Vientiane (Laos), in order to deploy the activities of searching and setting up Indochinese records in Laos.

“On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), we would like to transfer copyright and support the member organizations of the World Records Union (WorldKings). The Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) will cooperate with representatives and agencies in Laos to promote Laos’ record values, publish travel guides, implement Top itineraries in Laos and Indochina, and foster cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, etc. to promote tourism and specialties in Vietnam and Laos. Additionally, the Vietnam side will work with Lao National Publishing and Book Distribution House to release travel publications in a variety of languages.” Mr. Le Tran Truong An shared at the meeting.

In response to this gesture of goodwill, Mr. Sayyaphon – Director of Lao National Publishing and Book Distribution House, has expressed a desire to collaborate with VietKings to jointly develop the activities of the Indochina Book of Records (IndochinaKings).

“We are delighted and privileged to welcome the leadership of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) in Vientiane, Laos. The Indochina Book of Records (IndochinaKings) has been established for a long time ago. We are really pleased to cooperate with the representatives from Vietnam to promote future Indochina Book of Records (IndochinaKings) initiatives together as well as to create travel guides to highlight the cultural and tourist attractions of Laos.” Mr. Sayyaphon shared.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to set up a liaison office of the Indochina Book of Records (IndochiaKings) in Vientiane, Laos. This office holds the important duty and mission of promoting the tourism values, cuisine, specialties, and culture of Laos to tourists through tourism publications produced in collaboration between Vietnam and Laos.

With the positive results achieved at the meeting on July 29, 2022, the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) is overjoyed that it will soon be able to encourage the promotion of the distinctive values of Laos specifically as well as the Indochina area in general. As a result, the connection between Indochina nations and the Vietnamese record-holder community has been strengthened.
