According to Nongkhai officials, the province expects the Lao side to agree to a “day tourism” policy before the Laos-Thailand Friendship Border Gate No. 1 is reopened on December 24.
Earlier, Thailand’s Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) agreed to relax entry regulations for international visitors, as well as overseas Thais who want to return. Therefore, international visitors from Laos can reach Nongkhai by land without being quarantined.
According to the proposal, Nongkhai will allow Laotians and foreigners to come to this province by land if they have had enough Covid-19 vaccine and vice versa, Thai people who have had enough vaccines can also go to Vientiane and return within the same day.
