The government of Vientiane province on April 13 announced a request for New Year festivals in the area to be held in accordance with traditional rituals, while banning crowd gathering or partying activities.

The government of Vientiane province also prohibited concerts in public areas, temporarily closing entertainment venues, karaoke, and restaurants during April.

Meanwhile, Tonpheung district, Bokeo province, northern Laos also prohibited border localities from traveling by boat on the Mekong River to avoid illegal entry from Thailand, which received serious epidemic in April.
