The exhibition was co-organised by Laos’ Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dr Sonexay Siphandone, Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee Secretariat, Vo Van Thuong, and senior government officials from the two countries.

The exhibition comprises classic paintings including landscape scenes in Vietnam, and major events in the protection and development of the country under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The special celebration to mark Lao and Vietnamese unity featured other traditional Vietnamese art forms which depicted the protection and development of the nation throughout many years of history.
These events served to reflect the great friendship, special solidarity, and strong cooperation between the parties, governments and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

Laos’ Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Vansy Kuamua, said he was pleased to cooperate with Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to stage the exhibition in Vientiane.
At the same time, an exhibition of Lao paintings is on display place in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Mr Vansy said the exhibitions showcased the cooperation taking place in the fields of culture and tourism by the two ministries from 2021 to 2025.

All of the events arranged to celebrate Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022 were indicative of the great friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two parties, governments and peoples of Laos and Vietnam, who had enjoyed a strong brotherly relationship in years gone by and continued to build on this fraternal bond, he added.

Laos’ Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism admired Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for organising a grand exhibition to celebrate Lao-Vietnamese friendship and the longstanding cooperation treaty, with the event proving to be a great success, Mr Vansy said.

The 60th anniversary of Laos-Vietnam diplomatic relations and Vietnam-Laos cooperation is a milestone in developments and achievements in the political and economic arenas, helping to sustain the two countries’ cultures, education systems, and overall cooperation.

The landmark anniversary also serves to intensify the relationship between two countries’ parties, national assemblies, governments and peoples, he added.
