Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is expected to inaugurate the tournament. This event will attract over 100 top MMA fighters from more than 20 countries and territories across Asia.

The championship is jointly organized by the NOCC and the Olympic Council of Asia, and it will be the largest gathering of MMA fighters in Cambodia. NOCC Secretary General Vath Chamroeun stated, “We hope that this regional tournament will help further promote Cambodia’s traditional martial arts, such as Kun Bokator and Kun Khmer, on the international stage.”

Chamroeun also added that the tournament will serve as a qualifying round for the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which will be held in Thailand in November.

During the first championship held in August 2023 in Thailand, Cambodian athletes won two bronze medals.
