Based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, APFW is the longest-running international photography event in Southeast Asia. Their regular annual program includes the Angkor Photo Workshops for Asian photographers and the Angkor Photo Festival, with exhibitions, screenings, workshops, and many other activities to attract visitors and the public.

The 19th Edition of Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops

The 19th edition of the Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops took place from January 19 to 28, 2024. The public festival was held from January 24 to 28, 2024 with 20 participants from 10 Asian countries who were selected from over 280 applications received in the open call.

Open to All Forms of Photography

APFW’s main focus does not only lie on just photography – what matters is how photography can help us engage with the real world in a useful, meaningful way. The event encourages exploration and experimentation, which can open up new approaches to this medium.

Connecting the Asian Photography Community

Over the years, they have become an important gathering space for photographers from across Asia, creating a tight-knit community of festival attendees and workshop participants from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and practices. They design their events to be comfortable and non-hierarchical.

A Non-Profit Organization with Core Values

The core values of APFW are non-commercial and accessible to everyone. They include and are open to all forms of photography, with a free approach to promoting meaningful photography. All their events are free to attend and open to the public.
