On the evening of April 16, 2021, Trungnam Group held the inauguration ceremony of Trung Nam Wind Power Plant. The project includes 45 wind power towers with a capacity of 151.95 MW. The total investment capital of the project is nearly 4,000 billion VND, spread over 900 hectares of land. The wind power plant has a total capacity of 48 MW, the exploitation output is 134 million kWh. There are also transformer stations connected to Thap Cham 220kV station to connect to the national grid.

This plant combines with a 204 MW solar power plant to form the largest and only solar and wind power complex in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The project uses turbines of manufacturer ENERCON (Federal Republic of Germany) with gearless technology with the advantage of being able to operate with low wind speeds of 2 -2.5m/s, ability to catch the wind with an average speed of 7.1 m/s, higher than phase 1 is 6.5 m/s. This is the type of land-based turbine with the largest capacity in Vietnam nowadays.

In terms of scale, the total area of the renewable energy complex project area is 900 hectares, of which the wind power farm has a total investment of 4,000 billion VND, the solar power farm has a total investment of 6,000 billion VND, with the scale of installing 705,000 solar panels. The total annual exploitation output of the Wind – Solar farm complex reaches from 950 million kWh to 1 billion kWh of electricity per year.
