In the list of “the bluest water places in the world” voted by America travel magazine – Travel Leisure, only Vietnam Con Son island, located at Con Dao Islands, Ba Ria Vung Tau province, is one of the Asia’s representatives that is honourably nominated.
Con Son is thought to be the largest island among Con Dao Islands with the area of 51,52 km2. It stands the town’s central district and Con Dao Prison.
Just 45-minute flight from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh city, but Con Son is indeed an ideal get-away heaven where only peaceful beaches and immaculate nature present.
It was once a place witnessing war crimes of French colonialism and America empire, but at present Con Son is filled with the tranquillity of light blue water encircling a long white squeaky sand following a captivating coral reef.

Regarding to Con Son island, Travel Leisure explained why it is on their nominations: “Con Son is one of the populated islands among the group of Con Dao Islands. Despite its distance far from land, Con Son is gifted by its charm with blue-sky water and beautiful sand.
A trip around Con Son island is fantastic when you can choose to go to An Hai Bay by motorbike for zoo visiting and scuba-diving for pearl hunting. Or you can climb up the peak of the hill on the south of An Hai Bay to enjoy panoramic view from different angles. In addition, you can walk around the theme park on the island in the evening.
Previously, Con Dao has been nominated and appeared several times on Travel Leisure list. In 2011, it was praised as one of the most mysterious and greatest islands in the world.
According to Travel Leisure, Con Dao is famous for its magnificent granit stone cliffs by side a crystal-clear seashore. This is also a cuisine paradise for seafood aficionados in VietNam. The menu option is various, enjoying delicious meal at restaurant or simply browsing seafood market for a barbecue beach party by your own.
Travel Leisure also suggests having a local tour guide and motorbike with you so as not to miss all picturesque sceneries on the island.
Likewise, travel magazine Lonely Planet also listed Con Dao in top 10 most attractive destinations in Asia in 2017, giving compliment on how paradise-like it is, from bushy forest, emerald water color to home of spectacular organisms.
