Yatta Plateau is a plateau in Kenya. It is located in the county of Kitui , in the southern part of the country, 200 km southeast of the capital Nairobi.

A warm steppe climate prevails in the area. The average annual temperature in the neighborhood is 24  ° C . The warmest month is October, when the average temperature is 26 ° C, and the coldest is November, with 22 ° C. The average annual rainfall is 685 millimeters.

The rainiest month is November, with an average of 189 mm of precipitation , and the driest is July, with 1 mm of rainfall. 

The Yatta Plateau, the world's longest lava flow, runs along the western boundary of the park above the Athi River. Its 290 km length was formed by lava from Ol Doinyo Sabuk Mountain.
