The oDocs nun is the latest smartphone ophthalmoscope capable of both mydriatic and non-mydriatic retinal imaging. It is a portable retinal examination device that can be used with a broad range of smartphones running on the iOS and Android platforms. The device can be used independently as a handheld ophthalmoscope or in conjunction with a smartphone.

This may be a game changer especially in the primary care sector.  Headaches and visual symptoms accounts for over 10% of all GP visits.  One of the important things to assess is the optic disc to exclude papilloedema.  With oDocs nun, the clinical assessment can be done with ease.  The company hope to make it a standard piece of equipment in every practice.

This latest innovation is expected to be ready by November, when the company will start shipping out pre-orders. The official launch is first quarter of 2019.  oDocs Nun Specifications   customers who pre-order the device will save up to $170 and receive it before next year.

The product is CE marked as a class 1 medical device and registered with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and MedSafe.
