It was a fulfilling and sweet success for the event that was themed “Noodles and Khmer Desserts” and attracted thousands of people.

The Khmer Food and Arts Festival held on Monday evening in Pursat city, showcased traditional Khmer and indigenous costumes and had numerous booths selling popular Khmer sweets, food and drinks as well as consumer products.

In the competition for best noodles, a panel of judges voted Khmer Veal Veng district of “Praher Love Khmer Soup”, Kandeang district’s “Khmer Noodles Praher Soup and Natural Vegetable” came in second and the third placing went to Bakan’s district “Khmer Praher Noodles Soup”.

It was the third Khmer Food and Arts Festival organised by the Pursat Department of Culture and Fine Arts.

Lach Phengly, director of the Pursat Department of Culture and Fine Arts, said the event helped contribute to Pursat’s socio-economic development.

“It was also to preserve Khmer arts and promote national culture and traditions to the public, especially young people,”

“The event was a success and thousands were at the festival,”  he said Tuesday

Phengly said the department had also organised many other events such as the Khmer Kite Festival, Youth Art Festival, and Chapey Dang Veng Festival at both provincial and national levels.
