Addressing the event, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in Vientiane Le Van Mui said that the COVID-19 pandemic in both Vietnam and Laos have been in good control, contributing to creating positive economic situation and stable lives of the peoples.

This year, many Vietnamese cannot return to the homeland for Tet, so the Association of Vietnamese People in Vientiane has organised a programme to give them the opportunity to gather and enjoy the Tet atmosphere, Mui said.

On the occasion, 300 chung cakes were made to present to needy Vietnamese people in Vientiane.

The programme also includes performances of traditional Vietnamese costumes and songs, recreation of the life of the Vietnamese during Tet, showcase of Tet market, and others.
